Nine Trims with Several Configurations

The 2021 Ford Expedition trim levels start with the well-equipped XL STX. The base model comes with the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a two-speed automatic four-wheel drive.

This trim has cloth seats with a second-row bench that has a 40/20/40 folding capability. The next trim, the XLT, has similar powertrain and drivetrain features and includes a 60/40 folding third-row seat. The XLT Max has similar seating.

Moving to the Limited and Limited Max trims add leather-trimmed, heated, and ventilated front seats with heated second-row seats and third row. In the Ford Expedition King Ranch and King Ranch Max, the second row turns to captain’s chairs and the third row remains, with seating for seven.

The Platinum and Platinum Max return to seating for eight with three seats in the second and third rows each. The second and third rows in all models have power-folding seats for customized configurations.

Well-Equipped Safety and Tech at All Trims

The Ford Expedition specs include several driver-assist features from the base XL STX to the high-end Platinum Trims. The XL STX includes Blind-Spot Monitoring with Cross-Traffic Alert, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto Stop-Start Technology, Stability Control, Rear View Camera with Backup Assist Grid Lines and Washer.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the Platinum trim has Rain-Sensing Front Wipers, Forward Sensing System, Enhanced Active Park Assist with Parallel Parking, Park Out Assist and Reverse Perpendicular Parking, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

It also comes with Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation. The Limited trim and King Ranch trim have similar upgraded driver-assist features along with Pro Trailer Backup Assist and a 360-Degree Camera.

Infotainment tech is also notable on all trim levels. The base model comes with a standard 8.0-inch SYNC® 3 touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE mobile hotspot. Buyers who choose the Limited, King Ranch, or Platinum trims get a rear-seat entertainment system.
