The Functional and Comfortable 2022 Ford EcoSport

Ford made a few changes to the 2022 EcoSport. The subcompact SUV has a new powertrain and standard all-wheel drive. It also comes standard with the Ford Sync 3 infotainment system. Plenty of High-Tech Features

The 2022 Ford EcoSport features the high-tech and intuitive Ford Sync 3 infotainment system. The base S trim has a 4.2-inch screen with an AM/FM stereo, MP3 capability, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and six speakers. The SE trim adds an 8.0-inch touchscreen with a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Voice-activated navigation is available on the SE trim.

The SES trim has the same features as the SE, but voice-activated navigation is standard, and Ford adds a seventh speaker. The Titanium models have the same features as the SES with the addition of a B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen with ten speakers and a subwoofer.

The Titanium trim also has ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an AC outlet, a pair of smart-charging USB ports, two 12V outlets, and a power sunroof.

Standard safety features on the affordably-priced EcoSport S include a Rearview Camera, Brake Assist, and the SOS Post Crash Alert System. The SE adds Rear Parking Sensors, while the Ford EcoSport SES and Titanium add Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert.

A New Powertrain for 2022

The 2022 EcoSport comes with an upgraded powertrain compared to the 2021 model. The previous model year had a three-liter engine with standard front-wheel drive. Ford upgraded the 2022 model with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers 166 horsepower. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic and comes with standard all-wheel drive.

This powertrain makes the EcoSport a perfect vehicle for driving around town, and the subcompact also has a 2,000-pound towing capacity, which is more than most of its competitors. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 23/29 MPG.

Roomy Cargo Space

The EcoSport seats five comfortably. With the second row upright, the EcoSport has 20.9 cubic feet of cargo space, and the space increases to 50 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
