2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E – Are You Ready for the Future?
There is a new pony joining the Mustang stable and this one is bringing a whole new take on the Mustang experience. It’s the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, an all electric version that is obviously different from its stablemates, but packs the same spirit and excitement that is the hallmark of the Mustang. As the premiere Ford dealership in the Columbus, GA area, we at Group 1 Ford of Rivertown can’t wait to get these rides in our showroom.
They are hot, sexy looking, have plenty of range and are packed with a ton of advanced Ford technology. There are five trims in the lineup, but the first two shipped will be the Premium and the limited-build First Edition. For all you EV naysayers out there, we challenge you to get behind the wheel, punch the pedal and walk away without a silly grin on your face. The Mach-E is a Mustang not a golf cart. You can drop by Group 1 Ford of Rivertown today and we will be happy to fill you in on all the specs, information and material on this ride of the future.
2021 Mustang Mach-E – Instant Torque and All-Wheel-Drive
Ford is looking at the future and what they see is a bunch of electrons replacing carbon atoms. The gas powered GT isn’t going anywhere soon, but EVs are going to become more and more common. But in a Mustang? The Ford 2021 Mustang Mach-E is the answer to the question “why not?”
Powered by a 75.7 kWh battery, the Ford 2021 Mustang Mach-E can get from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. When equipped with the eAWD platform, the Mach-E generates 346 hp and 428Lb-ft of torque and that torque is on demand. In the Extended-Range RWD platform, the Mach-E has a range of 300 miles, can be recharged at home overnight or can “fuel up” at a fFordPass Charging Network station with up to 150kW DC Fast Charge Capability.
The Ford 2021 Mustang Mach-E comes standard as a RWD drivetrain but we are betting that the optional eAWD with its incredible handling characteristics will be the big favorite among traditional Mustang fans. Either way, you are getting a ride that has the acceleration and curve carving capabilities that the pony is famous for.
This New Pony Has a New Look
Even if you did not know that the new Mach-E was an electric vehicle, you would notice one big difference between it and the rest of the Mustang lineup. It’s a crossover SUV. It looks like a Mustang with the same muscular haunches, sculpted side panels and tri-bar brake lights, but there are differences. There is no grille because there is no need for a grille, there is no engine. What there is, is a whole lot of cargo space, including a water resistant, drainable space under the hood, that turns this pony into a road tripping party machine.
Inside are the familiar high end materials and accents, heated seats and steering wheel, ambient lighting and an available 10 speaker B & O premium sound system. But the thing that grabs your eye is the 15.5-inch touchscreen running the latest Ford SYNC® 4 infotainment system. The other thing you are going to notice is the panoramic fixed-glass roof and all the space. The crossover SUV design provides ample headroom, something that is in short supply in most ponies. You can actually fit five adults and their gear in this ride comfortably.
This Pony Practices Safe Driving
Safety is a priority at Ford and the new 2021 Mustang Mach-E will be sharing a number of safety systems designed to give you confidence on both the interstate and parking lot. The Ford Co-Pilot 360(™) and Assist 2.0 anchor the safety profile. Available safety programs include Forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, lane keeping and our favorite parking lot tool, rear cross traffic alert.
Passengers and drivers are protected by a full side of head and side airbags, pre-crash belt tensioners. Lane Departure Warning and blind spot monitoring provide a layer of safety on multi-lane roads allowing one to maneuver with confidence. The Mach-E is sporty but its principal job is to keep you safe.

This New Mustang Has Connections
And we mean that literally. Updates to systems in the 2021 Mustang Mach-E will be accomplished through the cloud eliminating the need for a service visit. The SYNC® 4 infotainment system is the fastest and most comprehensive information system Ford has ever developed. A wi-fi hot spot and multiple USB ports ensure your devices are ready and of course you are tuned in with Android™ Auto and Apple CarPlay®.
